Crossfire EX 600mW Laser Review

Remember that laser pointer you once bought from a dodgy dealer on a school trip? Well, things have moved on in the laser world since then. The Crossfire EX 600mW represents the cream of the current crop of hand-held lasers. 600mW indicates the power of the Crossfire's laser beam. For reference, a standard pointer has a 5mW laser beam. This means that the Crossfire effectively has a beam 100 times more powerful than your standard pointer, visible in broad daylight. Mummy i'm scared...

What can one do with such power? Well, you could point at stars, but inevitably you'll point at a police helicopter and end up doing time. Alternatively, you can use the Crossfire's super-beam to pop balloons, light matches or even burn through scotch tape. If your a star wars fan, why not use it as a light saber, albeit a light saber with a 50 mile, yes 50 mile beam! If you do point the beam into the sky on a clear night (away from police helicopters) it will actually reach to the edge of earths upper atmosphere! Such power.

But remember, with great power comes great responsibility. Fortunately, the Crossfire EX 600 mW packs a massive £2000 price tag, keeping it out of the hands of delinquents, but also out of financial reach to all but the most dedicated laser fan. Ultimately, the Crossfire EX 600 mW cannot justify its ridiculous price tag, but as a piece of technology it is hugely desirable.
