Call of Duty has attracted gamers back to Cod: WaW by releasing the Map Pack 2. This Map pack comes with 3 exclusive multiplayer maps; Banzai, Sub Pens, Corrosion and the map which is most talked about, Shi No Numa. Treyarch have tried to keep WaW alive due to the hype of the announcement of Modern Warfare 2, but could this be the gravestone for Call of Duty: WaW? Lets have a look at the new Sub Pens Multiplayer map.
Subs Pens is based in the shipyards of WW2, where an astronomical collection of half-constructed submarines and empty cargo ships are waiting to be battled in. The lightness of this map is rather low so i would recommend to keep your eyes open and to equip a Light machine gun or SMG, such as a MP40. The map in comparison to all the other maps would be located around the bottom of the spectrum of size; it being rather small, but compressed with many hiding spots and areas to penetrate and battle in. The Map was constructed to appease headquarters and domination, as the enemy could attack from any angle and the structure of the map helps the team split up into small groups of 2 or 3 to capture other flags or bases.
Lets move onto Banzai.
Banzai is basically a giant tropical forest, possibly located in Vietnam or Japan. This map is delightful to view on a 1080p monitor as it releases the whole spectrum of colours onto the map, some which are included are deep, tropical greens, vibrant blues and deep browns, expressing every pixel of your High-definition monitor. This is a perfect team objective match as it has many caves and cliffs which are perfect for bolt-action rifles, machine guns, and ultimately to penetrate into the enemies base without being caught. The centerpiece of the map, the Bridge plays a key role in many game modes, such as War. This map can really test your gaming skills as you need to think very tactically about what you will do.
Now onto Corrosion.
Corrosion is located in the mines were crates of ore are being collected and mined. The maps Brightness is high, so don't be worried if a enemy is in front of you as you will be able to clearly see the enemy, not just a few metres away but much further away. Due to the brightness this map is ideal for snipers and riflemen. There are many options to take when attacking the enemy base or planting the bomb which makes this map ideal for Search and Destroy and Sabotage players.
Now Shi No Numa.
Shi No Numa is the new Multiplayer Zombie Map which is located deep in the 'knee deep swamps'. The basic objective of this map is to kill as many zombies as you can until you die. This time it has changed slightly. Now, every so often a multitude of dogs will start to charge at you; Very difficult if you are playing solo but slightly easier if you are in a party. Every time you begin Shi No Numa you will be selected to take on the role as one of 4 different characters. Each character you en-role as has many different emotions and sayings. The map is Shi No Numa is much different to the other Zombie maps, as now you can venture outside and even settle into different huts. As you a enter one of four huts, each one will contain a different Perk-A-Cola machine, so you can use this to buy the selected Perk.
Shi No Numa now contains a exclusive weapon, the Wunderwaffle DG-2. This is a weapon which emits a burst electric shocks onto the zombies. One shot can kill up to 20 zombies! Other features included in the new online franchise include, electric fences, the introduction of the Type 100 onto zombies, Zip lines for quick evasion and traps.
Treyarch has really set a new standard line with the Map Pack 2, showing the lack of detail with Map Pack 1. The colossal amount of features included with this Map Pack is phenomenal and is really worth the £7.99. Buy Now.
Good Features
- Use of 1080p with Banzai
- Shi No Numa lived up to expectations
- Features included with Map Pack

- Maps to accommodate many game modes.
- Shi No Numa can become laggy and static at times
- Would be better if the Map Packs were free
